Our occasional intersections with Julia during the course of her life, showed Julia to be a charming, insightful, diligent individual of indomitable spirit. Her vivid intelligence as a young child inspired us to use early reading programs with our children, to their benefit. Meeting her in England at 11 Julia was a thoughtful bright preteen. I regret not having more time with her as an adult, especially given our proximity. She dedicated herself to helping hundreds of other young people who needed a sympathetic ear at a significant cost to herself. During those adult years she developed her artist, creative self and took great delight in creating a beautiful, highly functional living space for herself and her visitors. She will be remembered dearly by our family and her untimely loss felt greatly. Our hearts go to the McNeils in their grief in the loss of their beautiful sister and daughter.
